More about ACCORD
ACCORD is a certified, independent trade union, affiliated to the TUC, The Scottish TUC and the Irish Congress of Trade Unions.
The Union is dedicated to representing members from HBOS who are now part of the Lloyds Banking Group. We are funded only by members' subscriptions and are not affiliated to any political party.
ACCORD is committed to positive industrial relations. We believe in working through problems and issues with employers to improve the quality of working life for our members. Since the takeover of HBOS and the creation of the Lloyds Banking group in January 2009 the challenge is greater than ever.
However, our commitment to “Putting Members First” guides all that we do. We stand up for our members at work; both individually and collectively as we pursue our objectives:
- Security of employment
- Fair reward and decent pensions
- Dignity at work and equality
Accord believes that it has an important and constructive role to play in helping HBOS staff to feel more positive about their in the Lloyds Banking Group. The Union regards itself as a partner to the Group in good times and bad. It recognises that an employer can only meet the union’s agenda for security of employment, fair reward and dignity at work if the business is able to survive and succeed.
The Union is based at Simmons House in Charvil, near Reading, Berkshire and it employs a network of officials throughout the UK to provide local support to members and representatives.
