ACCORD is a certified, independent trade Union, affiliated to the TUC and dedicated to representing members in all parts of the HBOS Group including Intelligent Finance, HBOS Life and Pensions, Card Services, the insurance divisions and contact centres as well as Corporate Sites and the retail network.

Accord is funded only by members' subscriptions and is not affiliated to any political party.

As well as negotiating with the employers on these issues, the Union also provides advice, support and guidance to individual members who experience difficulties at work.

Members have access to a Union funded legal advice service that is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Free personal accident insurance is provided along with a range of other services and benefits.

Current subscription rates are:

• Full time £7.50 per month
• Associate members £4.50 per month
• Retired members £4.50 per month
• Part-time members working 16-34 hours per week £4.50 per month
• Part-time members working less than 16 hours per week £2.50 per month
• Members (over 21 and working 16 plus hours per week) employed on short term contracts £4.50 per month
• All members under 21 years old £2.50 per month

The Union is based at Simmons House (named after the founding Chairman) in Charvil, near Reading. Ged Nichols is the General Secretary of the Union and, as well as the headquarters team, a network of Union officials throughout the UK provides more local support to members.
